It all began in 1964 when Ed and Margie Imo opened a tiny pizzeria on Thurman Avenue in St. Louis with a simple dream: to serve the most honest, satisfying pizza their community had ever tasted. Their secret? A thin, cracker-crisp crust cut into squares and topped generously with Provel — a unique blend of provolone, Swiss, and white cheddar that melts like silk.
Over the decades, that little corner spot grew into a beloved institution. The square pie with its distinctive Provel cheese became a hallmark of St. Louis culture. When Imos Pizza expanded to Kansas City, we brought every bit of that original spirit — the same recipes, the same commitment to quality, and the same passion for feeding people well.
